About Riverside Indian School
For nine months out of the year, Riverside Indian School is home to nearly 500 students representing over 75 Native American Tribes throughout the United States. Our campus is more than 135 acres, located on Wichita, Caddo and Delaware land, north of Anadarko, Oklahoma (approximately 60 miles southwest of Oklahoma City), surrounded by woodland areas next to the historical Washita River.
Riverside Indian School provides a holistic learning environment that develops each student and staff member through cultural, spiritual, physical, technological, and academic experiences. Every department takes pride in our mission and graduates, many earning scholarships and continuing their education at universities and technical schools.

We perpetuate a future-oriented, holistic, essential life skills-focused curriculum by effectively communicating Riverside's mission to our communities. We offer students a safe and supportive environment for living and learning and foster success by developing and promoting lifelong learning habits.
Strategic Transformation of Education Plan (STEP)
Riverside Indian School has implemented the Strategic Transformation of Education Plan (STEP) initiative – a digital learning portal with a blended learning approach. Our students can maximize this opportunity by accessing the digital learning portal with a 1:1 student-laptop usage ratio. This approach gives our students the advantage of integrated applications, and a robust learning strategy.

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
At Riverside Indian School, we are committed to providing a high‑quality academic environment where every student is challenged, supported, and believed in. Our work this year reflects that commitment. We have strengthened our instructional systems, aligned our expectations for learning, and invested in programs that ensure students see their own brilliance—often before they see it in themselves. As I often tell our students, “You may not see your full potential yet — but your teachers do,” and together we rise one step at a time toward the future they deserve.
We are also expanding opportunities that honor identity and amplify student voice. Our Native Language Program continues to grow, reinforcing that language is identity, belonging, and sovereignty for the many Nations represented on our campus. Alongside this work, our new broadcasting class, The Side Talk, allows students to create daily content, develop media skills, and share announcements and Words of the Wise with the entire community—accessible on YouTube each morning. These programs ensure that students not only learn but lead.
Most importantly, we are intentionally building the strengths and attributes our students will carry into their futures: teamwork, leadership, discipline, work ethic, and pride in the Native identity each student brings to campus. "Our students are brave, smart, and we never give up and because of that we are unstoppable.” Through academics, culture, language, and creative expression, we are preparing our young people not just for success in school, but for the world they will shape.
