Overview
About Riverside Indian School
For nine months out of the year, Riverside Indian School is home to nearly 500 students representing over 75 Native American Tribes throughout the United States. Our campus is more than 135 acres, located on Wichita, Caddo and Delaware land, north of Anadarko, Oklahoma (approximately 60 miles southwest of Oklahoma City), surrounded by woodland areas next to the historical Washita River.
Riverside Indian School provides a holistic learning environment that develops each student and staff member through cultural, spiritual, physical, technological, and academic experiences. Every department takes pride in our mission and graduates, many earning scholarships and continuing their education at universities and technical schools.
MISSION STATEMENT
We, the Riverside Indian School community, will create and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
VISION
We, the Riverside Indian School community, envision all students as:
- Effective communicators
- Complex thinkers
- Self-directed learners
- Quality producers
- Conscientious achievers
We perpetuate a future-oriented, holistic, essential life skills-focused curriculum by effectively communicating Riverside's mission to our communities. We offer students a safe and supportive environment for living and learning and foster success by developing and promoting lifelong learning habits.
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
At Riverside Indian School, we take pride in providing an environment that promotes quality learning, comfort, safety and a family atmosphere. We want our students to not only get a quality education and become successful adults who can give back to their families and Tribal communities. We believe Riverside sets the bar in providing Native students with the necessary tools to excel in a diverse world while never losing their cultural identity. Rest assured that when you send your child to Riverside, we embrace their Native heritage and honor the different Tribal affiliations represented. We have found that Riverside alumni are our biggest supporters, which only verifies our motto of “Once a Brave, Always a Brave.”
