Riverside Indian School

Student life at Riverside Indian School is a vibrant mix of academic rigor, cultural celebration, athletic involvement and social growth. As a residential school serving fourth through twelfth-grade students, we are committed to creating a nurturing environment where students from diverse backgrounds can thrive. Students engage in experiences that support academic achievement, personal well-being and the preservation of cultural heritage, all within our secure and inclusive campus community.

A Vibrant Residential Community

Our residential setting fosters a strong sense of belonging and community. The recently renovated dormitories and shared living spaces provide students a comfortable home away from home. Students are encouraged to form meaningful friendships, develop independence and build the confidence they need to succeed.

Academic Excellence and College Preparation

Academics are a top priority at Riverside Indian School, with programs designed to guide students toward high school graduation and college readiness. Our rigorous curriculum includes core subjects and courses in Native culture and history, giving students a well-rounded education that honors their heritage. Academic support services, including after-school tutoring, credit recovery and summer school, are available to help every student reach their academic goals.

Extracurricular Opportunities

Student life extends beyond the classroom through a variety of extracurricular options. From junior varsity and varsity sports teams to clubs and organizations such as the National Honor Society, Student Council and Robotics Club, students have ample opportunities to develop leadership skills, explore their interests and cultivate teamwork. These activities are designed to strengthen physical and social skills, helping students become well-rounded individuals.

Cultural Enrichment

Cultural preservation is central to our mission at Riverside Indian School. Students participate in cultural activities such as powwows, drum making and beadwork, allowing them to deepen their connection to their Native heritage. Our school offers unique cultural classes, including Native Literature, Tribal Government and Native Song and Dance, which inspire students to honor and celebrate their identities.

Health and Wellness Support

Supporting students’ physical and emotional health is a cornerstone of life at Riverside Indian School. Our comprehensive health services include access to a full-time nurse, counseling services and telepsychiatry for students who may need additional support. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive space for students to manage academic and personal challenges, with counseling technicians and licensed counselors from Indian Health Service available to assist as needed.

Community and Leadership Development

Through various clubs, sports and student government, students are encouraged to participate actively in their school community. These experiences help cultivate leadership skills and a sense of responsibility toward others. In addition, the 21st Century Program promotes values of cooperation, communal responsibility and lifelong recreational skills, supporting students in becoming thoughtful, self-confident adults.

A Safe, Inclusive and Inspiring Environment

Every aspect of student life at Riverside Indian School is crafted to offer students a secure and positive environment where they can learn, grow and feel empowered. We prioritize respect, inclusion and cultural appreciation, ensuring each student feels valued and supported on their journey toward academic and personal success.
